Somehow

Love deteriorates now that you're far.

Your voice still sounds in my ears;

Soft explosions blossom with the beat of my heart.

My mind still goes on

Reminiscing the image of you.

You left sweet, sweet memories

That no one could ever take away.

The Miner

The brisk, chilly morning-

Though to early for most to rise,

The miner is awake.

"The true way to render ourselves happy

Is to love our work and find pleasure in it,"

He believes.

As the man arrives to work,

He catches a glimpse of his surroundings.

The whole world on the horizon

With a trickling river,

Filled with salmon,

Meandering to some destination.

The movement of trees

As the wind whistles through its leaves

Wafts the smell of fresh pine.

Captivated by the grandiose view,

He finds contentment.

It is his first day

Working as a miner.

Tools in hand,

The lights of his new helmet switched on-

Ready for anything.

The company notifies workers of coal underneath the Alps.

Blasts from the explosives

Eradicate the once alluring site.

The miner watches as

The sky darkens;

The air fills with dirt and soot.

The mountain stands,

Demoralized

Left treeless,

Surrounded by black, motion-less water,

And void of life.

The miner stood

With a soot-covered face,

Regretting the work he's done.

Marquee Moon

A ivory light

Illuminates a little town,

As a man and a woman

Travels through by car-

Not noticing the view above.

The fair light

Reflects against ocean tides.

Distracted by their conversation,

They don't notice the romantic grand view

Of the radiating aura,

As they walk along the sandy floor.

The awning light

Always shines,

Shining its might

Waiting for someone to

Reminisce its glow.

Haiku

Home

Rain hits the window;
Your pillow is soft and dry.
Soon you'll wake, not now.

Peak of Yearn

Thousand miles apart,
Watching luminance of stars -
Lovers feeling close.

Ever-long Gaze

Silent Sentinel,
Motionless against the tide,
Watching the sunset.

The Silence

Red old Stagg guitar;
Melodies made from your strings,
But now they're broken.

Life in Nature

Rise up to the sky
At the last breathe of autumn -
Trees now exhaling.

The New Life

The hard orange exterior is
Overly sliced, as
Hands reach in,
Excreting the seed-filled guts.
The swift blade of the knife
Pierces the gourd-like squash once more,
Resurrecting life to the object
Once dead.
Two triangle shaped eyes, with
An eerie, shudder-some grin are carved on.
Life ingresses as a candle is lit inside,
Giving persona to
The dull stolid pumpkin on Halloween night.

Miss You Everyday

His shy smile was
Usually hidden to people,
But to me,
It was lovely.
“Hey there!”
Friends at first-
Though it ended as more.
We'd watch movies on our free-time,
Whether its classic horror films, musicals, or about superheroes...
It didn't matter what we did,
The feeling of comfort grew upon me as
He would always be around
When I needed him.
Although the reasons are bountiful,
They were always kept to ourselves.
My best friend,
My love,
Never could trust be so freely given
As I handed it to you.
Fulfillment of happiness left-
Grief in its place.
The news of you moving broke me.
No one wants to let go,
Move on,
And surrender easily without a fight.
There was nothing I could do;
Thoughts still render in my mind on how
I still miss you everyday.
